Exhibition entitled: Remembering Goya 1828-1978 aims to provide an insight into the way Aragon has dealt with the life and works of Francisco de Goya. It is a journey along the major milestones from the painter’s death in 1828 until the 150th anniversary celebrations in 1978, and it covers both research and historiography, as wells art criticism, the views of the general public, institutional memory, symbolic memorials, art collections and the conservation and dissemination of his work. It is therefore defined as an exhibition with educational intent from a historical perspective, in the context of the process begun over approximately thirty years ago, which is now working towards the creation of a museum in Zaragoza dedicated to the painter’s life and work.
