The decision of the jury for the 1st Call for Proposals for Research Grants provided by the Centre for Goya Research and Documentation at the Goya in Aragon Foundation.

On 9 September 2009 the jury for the 1st Call for Proposals for Research Grants, made up of the members of the Goya in Aragon Foundation’s Scientific Committee met in Zaragoza.

The jury awarded the Research Grants to the following proposals and candidates:

GRANT A (awarded every two years with a value of 24,000 Euros):

“Spanish Artists at the Accademia del Nudo and the Académie de France in the third quarter of the 18th C. Visual models and the process of learning. The case of Francisco de Goya”: proposed by Raquel Gallego García.

GRANT B (3 grants awarded every year with a value of 3,000 Euros each): 

1. “Tadeus Kuntz; his European patrons and his possible links with Goya and Enlightenment Spain”, proposed by Aneta Bialy.
2. “Systemisation of painting in Zaragoza in the second half of the 18thC.”, proposed by José Ignacio Calvo Ruata.
3. “Pendentives of the Fathers of the Church at Muel, Remolinos and Calatayud; a critical review of their attribution to Francisco Goya”, proposed by Juan Carlos Lozano López.
